The apologists for Barack Obama in the news media are in full swing. In the interest of full disclosure, I have to admit I am a conservative Republican, but I do not support any individual candidate. Well, at least not yet. MSNBC is castigating Mitt Romney not because of the issues he supports, not because he is a Republican, but because of his generosity.

So lets set the stage. A struggling black woman tells Mitt Romney of her troubles and in response he gives her $50. MSNBC, always the parrot of Barack Obama and the Democrats, says the Republican candidate was working the lines in South Carolina when he came across 55-year-old Ruth Williams, who also volunteers in his campaign office, and proceeded to tell her story. Romney then pulled out his wallet and gave her some money. This should have been the end of the story except for MSNBC news.

“As an African American woman it galls me. I don’t even like to watch it. I felt like it plays into every sort of patronizing stereotype of black people.” MSNBC contributor Joy-Ann Reid said, “‘Oh, here is this little lady let me give her 50 bucks’. . . I think it plays into that conservative meme, that you don’t need actual programs that the government puts in place to help people in need, we’ll just give them charity, I’ll just give him 50 bucks.”

“There are alot of very convenient elements to this story, as you said Joy, it really makes cringe. We have this black woman who suddenly almost becomes this mascot for the campaign.” said MSNBC contributer Janell Ross, “She is sort of affirming all sorts of Conservative ideas about whose poor and how certain people deal with their poverty and seek out the assistance of a wealthy white man to hand you some form of aid.”

Are you kidding me!!! This is an issue Romney can not win. If he gave her nothing, they would have criticized him for not caring. But because the former governor generously gave her money, MSNBC news rebukes Romney for what they see as disparaging her. As I said, he can not win. Then there is the information the network left out.

“I was on the highway praying and said, ‘God just show me how to get [my] lights on,’ and I pulled up to a stop sign and his bus was there,” said Williams, who has been unemployed since last October. “And then God said, ‘Follow the bus,’ and I followed the bus to the airport.”

Williams, who would not specify how much money Romney gave her, said also that South Carolina Treasurer Curtis Loftis paid her light bill on Thursday. A spokesman for Loftis, one of Romney’s major endorses in the state, confirmed to ABC News that he paid Williams’ bill. While Loftis didn’t know the amount of the bill, he confirmed that he gave her $150.

Williams said she has been volunteering at Romney’s Columbia headquarters since meeting his bus last week.
“I’ve been working at his campaign office cleaning and just doing little things,” she said.
“They really did, they really came through for real,” she said.

So MSNBC forgot to mention that Mrs. Williams was following her own heart and God when she decided to meet with Mitt Romney. The network forgot to mention that an aid to the Romney campaign also paid her light bill. And the parrots at MSNBC forgot to inform their viewers that because of the generosity of Mitt Romney and his campaign, she now volunteers in his South Carolina campaign headquarters.

Is there any wonder the American people have lost faith in the mainstream news networks? Is there any wonder MSNBC news has such a small audience? The people of America want the truth–pure and simple. They do not want bias, they do not want spin, sycophants or apologists. What they want is the news.

The Obama administration and the Democrats in general have a major problem. Over the last two years, the Dems has blown off the huge deficits they have run up as they pass more and more laws which spend ever more of our hard earned money. Finally the American people have taken notice. When asked how much of a problem the budget deficit is:

Major problem that must be addressed now: 81%
Major problem that should be addressed when economy improves: 14%
Not much of a problem: 1%

It is seldom that anyone can get 81% of the American people to agree with anything, but overspending by the government has caught their attention. Interestingly Americans have also been watching the debate and compromises between Republicans and the Democrats, and yet they do not hold very high expectations from these recent agreements. http://pewresearch.org/pubs/1974/poll-address-federa-budget-deficit-now

The public increasingly views the federal budget deficit as a major problem the country must address now. But fewer predict the country will achieve significant progress in reducing the deficit in five years than did so in December.

America’s leaders are not seen as doing much about the problem. According to another Pew poll, blame for the failing negotiations are blamed on all the major players almost equally. In fact the budget negotiations overwhelmingly are viewed negatively.

The public has an overwhelmingly negative reaction to the budget negotiations that narrowly avoided a government shutdown.

A weekend survey by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press and the Washington Post finds that “ridiculous” is the word used most frequently to describe the budget negotiations, followed by “disgusting,” “frustrating,” “messy,” “disappointing” and “stupid.”

Now that the American people have finally woken up, now what. Its time for them to do some research. The American people are by in large very un-informed and those who do try to inform themselves rely on some very unreliable sources, ie, the liberal mainstream media. These liberals in the media act in a concerted effort to blame Republicans for everything. This knee jerk reaction from the most of the major media only exacerbates the problem. Media often calls itself the people’s watchdogs, guarding against government overreaches and ineptitude in all levels of government. They have failed in this job.

Our predicament today of huge budget deficits has come about because of this failure. This is what happens when the media is not doing its self appointed job. This is what happens when the watchdogs becomes lapdogs. This is what happens when the media goes from fighters for the people to cheerleaders for the politicians. Where were they when the government took over healthcare over the objections of most Americans, where were they when the government tells people what to drive and drink and eat, and where were they when government agencies have become even more powerful than Congress in some respects?

I am glad the American people are starting to wake up from their long slumber. During their nap, their rights have been eroded. Every day more government agencies take a little more power once reserved for the American people. It is time for the citizens of the United States to wake up to the reality in which we find ourselves. We have less rights than ever before. And yet we still call for governmental action when something befuddles us. We are losing our power in the world, we are losing our economic strength, and we are losing our swagger. President Obama would tell us that is a good thing. That our swagger was angering the rest of the world. Funny, since this is the number one destination for just about everyone else in the world.

Its time for the citizens to understand who is causing this problem, to get past all the hoopla and see their leaders for what they are: either protectors of your liberty, or protectors of governmental intrusiveness. This poll only shows that Americans are finally awake to the problem of too much spending by the government, but they are woefully unaware of who is responsible. It is time for the American people to become truly informed and vote the rascals out who are about to bankrupt our country and destroy our way of life, all in the name of ‘fairness,’ which is a key word for socialism. We can not afford it.

Isn’t it strange that when George W. Bush sent troops into Iraq, the Democrats (Barack Obama) condemned the President for going ‘Cowboy’  and for being a unilateralist.  Democrats and the left said he was ‘going it alone,’ even though the US had organized the Coalition of the Willing.  But when Obama leads the attack against Libya, he is engaging in a multilateral coalition.  Sounds like double-speak to me, especially when you consider this study put together by Foreign Policy Magazine.

The Cable compiled a chart listing all the countries that contributed at least some military assets to the five major military operations in which the United States participated in a coalition during the last 20 years: the 1991 Gulf War (32 countries participating), the 1995 Bosnia mission (24 countries), the 1999 Kosovo mission (19 countries), the 2002 invasion of Afghanistan (48 countries), and the 2003 invasion of Iraq (40 countries), at the height of the size of each coalition. As of today, only 15 countries, including the United States, have committed to providing a military contribution to the Libya war.

Yesterday, President Obama once again reiterated the liberal falsehood that ‘in the past the US has gone in alone.’  As the chart shows, this is far from the truth.  In fact, Bush’s coalition is much larger that is Obama’s.  Lost in the story is the true reason the US in involved in the bombing of Libya: France.  France has begged for the US to enter this war. Obama dithered and dithered until the American people wanted him to say something about what was going on in the world, and so he finally responded and followed France into war.

Sounds very familiar; can anyone say, Vietnam?  And now that we are finally in this war, where does it stop.  We are told at our entrance into this war that it  is for a short time only, but if the war and bombing continue, the US will be the primary player.  As the world’s only superpower, we are the only ones who can attack continuously from a distance.  If troops are introduced, we will again be the major contributor.  For this, I am not sure who to thank, France for hoodwinking our President into joining this fray or Obama for being deluded into a ‘short’ war.

Either way, the Left (and Barack Obama) are being intentionality disingenuous.  President Bush did not go it alone against Iraq.  And President Obama seems to have the Coalition of the Not-Quite-So-Willing.  But if you are in a war, you will take who you can get—even if you are the only one shooting.  The main stream media are supposed to be the protectors of liberty, making sure the White House is not distorting the truth.  That helps to protect our freedoms. Right now, the MSM are only young, starry-eyed, rose colored glasses wearing cheerleaders of the President who shout his name.

Hat Tip: Hot Air

We have known for some time that Chris Mathews of MSNBC was a far left mouthpiece of President Barack Obama posing as a news anchorman. You might remember those now famous words spoken by Mathews who said he had a tingle run up his leg whenever then presidential candidate Barack Obama spoke. But now he is at it again.

And here [President Obama] is, and he comes into office, and this jubilant situation in Eqypt, with the first time in our lives we get to see people from the Arab world in a very positive democratic setting. Not as terrorists or not as people fighting Israel, or whatever. Not mouthing epithets against the West, but people like us.

In a way it’s like it took Obama to have this happen, or it’s just so serendipitous.

This is even worse than the tingle in his leg! Do we now bow down before the great Obama and praise him every time it rains? Do we give him credit for every good thing that happens…anywhere in the world?

What a stupid comment. I am utterly speechless. Chris Matthews has totally lost it. Any credibility he ever had is gone now. Of course he has not had much since MSNBC has become the mouthpiece for Obama and the far left moonbats.

It makes me wonder if Matthews is trying to ensure an Obama legacy. Legacies are made by great presidents. George Washington was the first president. Thomas Jefferson bought Louisiana and wrote the Declaration of Independence. Monroe had the Monroe doctrine. JFK had the Cuban Missile Crisis. President Reagan actively engaged the Soviet Union and asked them to ‘tear down this wall’ (the Iron Curtain). George Bush had 9/11 and brought down Sadam Hussen. And Barack Obama has………nothing.

Presidents ensure their legacy by fulfilling their destiny. Some of it is being in the right place at the right time. Take George W. Bush as an example. He happened to be in office when terrorism came to America. Obama will have his chance. If he is up to the challenge, he will meet it head on. If not, we wait for another president to step up to the plate. History will decide if Barack Obama is able to meet this challenge head on or not. I for one, am not optimistic. But history will decide, not Chris Matthews.

Either way, it is time for Matthews to stop all the pretense, come out into the open and declare that he is the unofficial spokesman for Barack Obama. As a news anchor, he is a joke. Chris Matthews is not fooling anyone by his charade. So far, he shows himself an Obama stooge.
