I have come to the conclusion that rich liberals suffer from an acute lack of integrity. Other liberals are either ignorant of their actions or they are duplicitous. I would like to believe that most Democrats do not know what their fellow progressives are doing, but I do not believe it. Liberals like to talk out of both sides of their mouths at the same time.

Take school vouchers. Liberals constantly lament the abuses and problems associated with the voucher system and yet they send their own children to private schools. No problem there.

Liberals claim to want universal medical care for everyone. Having comprehensive and compulsory healthcare is more fair, they say. And yet these same elitists do not want to use government medical care for themselves or their family. They go to the best doctors and buy the best medicine. Not that I would deny that right to them.

Liberals elites say progressive taxes are more fair. It redistributes income from those with more to those with less. It helps out those who can not take care of themselves. And yet they do all they can to hide their income in off shore accounts so that the government whether local, state, or federal can not touch it. Yeah, that’s fair.

Liberals want everyone to drive small underpowered cars, or hybrids, or electric. This is to save the environment, they say. And yet they drive large cars. Not only do they drive large cars, but their entire retinue does as well. Yeah, that helps the environment they claim they want to help.

The liberals bemoan global warming and how the burning of fossil fuels contributes to it. And yet they fly all over the world to promote their global warming agenda….and for concerts, for promotions, for….

The elite liberals live in very large houses which consumer an ungodly amount of electricity and their environmental footprint is huge. So much for the environment.

These same liberal elites promote communism since it promotes a classless, egalitarian society and yet they separate themselves from the rest of us. They build privacy walls not only so that we can not see in, but so they do not have to see how the rest of us live. It reminds them of their hypocrisy. Liberals support any form of government which is more egalitarian, but the money they make is from capitalism. They want a society without borders and they build a fence around theirs. They want everyone to have free access to print and they copy-write everything they write.

Liberals claim to support the end of private property, but they buy the largest and most expensive blocks of land and build the largest houses, buy the largest cars, clothe themselves in the most expensive designer clothes and furs, and they live off of the labor of others.

Liberals want their cake and they want to be able to eat it too. But that is impossible. They can not live on both sides of the fence at the same time. Either they want to give ALL parents choice in schools or they do not want to let anyone send their kids to private schools. Either they want universal medical care for EVERYONE or they do not. Either they want to progressive taxes for EVERYONE or the do not. Either they want EVERYONE to save the environment or they do not. Either they want EVERYONE to benefit from capitalism or they do not.

The liberal elites want to live in a capitalist society and reap its benefits while showing their enlightened progressivism to the rest of us. What it shows them to be is hypocrites.

It is time for Conservative American to wake up and take back their country before the liberals turn it into a failed socialist state. With their lapdog in the White House, it is only a matter of time before they destroy what was great about this country. Edmond Burke once said that “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.” That is so true and even more so today. It is time for good men (and women) to stand up for their country and defend her against those who would destroy her.

The far left have no clue what it takes to create jobs in this country. They have so deluded themselves into thinking that only the federal government can generate jobs that they lose sight of the truth: government does not create permanent jobs. It did not work for President Roosevelt and it will not work for Barack Obama.

Americans are scared, with reason. We’re in a vicious cycle in which lower wages and net job losses and high debt are causing consumers to cut their spending — which is causing businesses to cut back on hiring and reduce pay. There’s no way out of this morass without bold leadership from Washington to rekindle consumer demand.

If the Democrats remain silent, the vacuum will be filled by the Republican snake oil of federal spending cuts and cut taxes on big corporations and the wealthy. Democrats — starting with the President — must have the courage and conviction to tell the nation the recovery is stalling, and what must be done. (emphasis added by TRS)

Robert Reich is one of those purists when it comes to liberals who believe that the government is the solution to everything. He shows his true colors when he calls ‘snake oil’ the tried and true methods of creating jobs: crafting an environment where businesses and corporations are willing to take the chance and hire more people. That is what ends recessions. That is what lowers the unemployment rate. And that is what Republicans want. Democrats forget what rich people crave: more. Give a tax break to a Republican and he, or she, will hire more people to make even more wealth.

By going to name calling, the Democrats know they have already lost the argument with the American people. So they try to divert the attention of the voters on to their typical class warfare stances. This time the American people are ready for the deception of the liberals.

There are two seemingly unrelated stories which if tied together provide an ominous warning to the American people concerning ObamaCare. Right now wenty-six states are challenging Barack Obama’s healthcare plan in court. Acting U.S. Solicitor General Neal K. Katyal has been arguing for the law in the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.

That argument is at the heart of the constitutional challenge to the healthcare law and its mandate that nearly all Americans have health insurance by 2014.

Katyal argued that healthcare is unique and unlike purchasing other products, like vegetables in a grocery store. “You can walk out of this courtroom and be hit by a bus,” he said. And if such a person has no insurance, a hospital and the taxpayers will have to pay the costs of his emergency care, he said.

Katyal argued that Congress could reasonably decide that since everyone will likely need medical care at some time in their lives, everyone who can afford it should pay part of the cost. And he said the courts should uphold the law under Congress’ broad power to regulate commerce in this country.

Wow! To me that is indeed a stretch. Everyone needs health insurance because of what may happen. Of course if I get run over by a bus, I will probably die. In that case I will not need insurance. Or if I do, the bus company will provide it through their insurance. The fact remains that the law requires everyone to buy health insurance or face a fine or tax or whatever the administration is calling these days.

But what happens if you fail to buy health insurance and you do not pay your fine or tax or …. Then what? For that we can look at this other totally unrelated story. Stockton, California resident Kenneth Wright does not have a criminal record but he woke up at six o’clock in the morning to find 15 police officers outside his house.

As Wright came downstairs in his boxer shorts, he said the officers barged through his front door. Wright said an officer grabbed him by the neck and led him outside on his front lawn.
“He had his knee on my back and I had no idea why they were there,” Wright said.
According to Wright, officers also woke his three young children, ages 3, 7, and 11, and put them in a Stockton police patrol car with him. Officers then searched his house.

“They put me in handcuffs in that hot patrol car for six hours, traumatizing my kids,” Wright said.
As it turned out, the person law enforcement was looking for – Wright’s estranged wife – was not there.

U.S. Department of Education spokesman Justin Hamilton confirmed for News10 Wednesday morning federal agents with the Office of the Inspector General (OIG), not local S.W.A.T., served the search warrant. Hamilton would not say specifically why the raid took place except that it was part of an ongoing criminal investigation.

There was some discussion whether or not the arrest warrant was related to defaulting on student loans. The arresting agency is …a semi-independent branch of the education department that executes warrants for criminal offenses such as student aid fraud, embezzlement of federal aid and bribery, according to Hamilton. The agency serves 30 to 35 search warrants a year.

Taken together these two stories beg the question, will some agency or department possibly within the Commerce Dept. or maybe even Health and Human Services actually employ their own federal agents who will fine and maybe even arrest those who do not buy health insurance? If so, it will set a very dangerous precedent and our individual rights will be in jeopardy.

Fortunately the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals seems to be leaning against ObamaCare being constitutional.

And in an ominous sign for the administration, the judges opened the arguments by saying they knew of no case in American history where the courts had upheld the government’s power to force someone to buy a product.

That argument is at the heart of the constitutional challenge to the healthcare law and its mandate that nearly all Americans have health insurance by 2014.

“I can’t find any case like this,” said Chief Judge Joel Dubina of the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. “If we uphold this, are there any limits” on the power of the federal government? he asked.

Indeed, there would be no limits at all to the power of the federal government if ObamaCare is not overturned. In over 220 years Congress has never seen fit to force people to engage in commerce. The very definition of FREEDOM being allowed the opportunity to be responsible for your own actions. Unlimited government power takes away the people’s power to live their lives the way they want.

The Obama administration and the Democrats in general have a major problem. Over the last two years, the Dems has blown off the huge deficits they have run up as they pass more and more laws which spend ever more of our hard earned money. Finally the American people have taken notice. When asked how much of a problem the budget deficit is:

Major problem that must be addressed now: 81%
Major problem that should be addressed when economy improves: 14%
Not much of a problem: 1%

It is seldom that anyone can get 81% of the American people to agree with anything, but overspending by the government has caught their attention. Interestingly Americans have also been watching the debate and compromises between Republicans and the Democrats, and yet they do not hold very high expectations from these recent agreements. http://pewresearch.org/pubs/1974/poll-address-federa-budget-deficit-now

The public increasingly views the federal budget deficit as a major problem the country must address now. But fewer predict the country will achieve significant progress in reducing the deficit in five years than did so in December.

America’s leaders are not seen as doing much about the problem. According to another Pew poll, blame for the failing negotiations are blamed on all the major players almost equally. In fact the budget negotiations overwhelmingly are viewed negatively.

The public has an overwhelmingly negative reaction to the budget negotiations that narrowly avoided a government shutdown.

A weekend survey by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press and the Washington Post finds that “ridiculous” is the word used most frequently to describe the budget negotiations, followed by “disgusting,” “frustrating,” “messy,” “disappointing” and “stupid.”

Now that the American people have finally woken up, now what. Its time for them to do some research. The American people are by in large very un-informed and those who do try to inform themselves rely on some very unreliable sources, ie, the liberal mainstream media. These liberals in the media act in a concerted effort to blame Republicans for everything. This knee jerk reaction from the most of the major media only exacerbates the problem. Media often calls itself the people’s watchdogs, guarding against government overreaches and ineptitude in all levels of government. They have failed in this job.

Our predicament today of huge budget deficits has come about because of this failure. This is what happens when the media is not doing its self appointed job. This is what happens when the watchdogs becomes lapdogs. This is what happens when the media goes from fighters for the people to cheerleaders for the politicians. Where were they when the government took over healthcare over the objections of most Americans, where were they when the government tells people what to drive and drink and eat, and where were they when government agencies have become even more powerful than Congress in some respects?

I am glad the American people are starting to wake up from their long slumber. During their nap, their rights have been eroded. Every day more government agencies take a little more power once reserved for the American people. It is time for the citizens of the United States to wake up to the reality in which we find ourselves. We have less rights than ever before. And yet we still call for governmental action when something befuddles us. We are losing our power in the world, we are losing our economic strength, and we are losing our swagger. President Obama would tell us that is a good thing. That our swagger was angering the rest of the world. Funny, since this is the number one destination for just about everyone else in the world.

Its time for the citizens to understand who is causing this problem, to get past all the hoopla and see their leaders for what they are: either protectors of your liberty, or protectors of governmental intrusiveness. This poll only shows that Americans are finally awake to the problem of too much spending by the government, but they are woefully unaware of who is responsible. It is time for the American people to become truly informed and vote the rascals out who are about to bankrupt our country and destroy our way of life, all in the name of ‘fairness,’ which is a key word for socialism. We can not afford it.

You have to love those Democrats. They are so willing to subvert the system, buy votes, pay for people to register to vote, register illegal aliens, register those who do not even live in the state, vote for those who can not vote for themselves, and even allow dead people to vote. But look at them holler when the system works right.

Democrats in Wisconsin were crying foul Friday after a significant vote-count change in the hotly contested Supreme Court election gave the conservative incumbent the lead in a race that could decide the fate of the state’s new divisive collective bargaining law.

Waukesha County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus said it was “human error” that resulted in more than 14,000 votes from her predominantly GOP county not being reported on Tuesday. The corrected totals gave conservative Justice David Prosser a 7,500-vote lead, according to unofficial tallies, and undid the earlier likelihood of a recount.

When the Democrat JoAnne Kloppenberg picked up seats, the liberals were silent as a church mouse.

Fitzgerald noted that Grant County had added more than 100 votes for challenger JoAnne Kloppenberg after the initial count.

Justice Prosser showed a lot of class throughout the process, unlike his challenger who performed a victory dance and proclaimed her win to the media with only a 200 vote majority.

“I’m not conceding, and I’m not congratulating. And I’m not claiming victory,” he said.

It reminds me a little bit of Hugh Hewitt’s book “If it’s not close, They Can’t Cheat.” The liberals will do anything to win: lie, cheat, steal, forge, falsify, corrupt, bribe, … What they do not understand is the one principle on which they stand is WRONG. The ends do NOT justify the means. If the process is compromised, then everyone loses, including them. If they can cheat, then so can someone who is against them. If they can cheat then so can someone who is against all of us. The voting process is an integral part of our democracy, its too integral to risk corrupting it.

If any one side loses this battle, we all lose. Most Republicans accepted the fact of a President Obama. We did not like him or his policies, but he is our President. Liberals do not think this way. They never accepted the fact that President Bush defeated Al Gore, thus the Bush Derangement Syndrome. They could not accept the fact that any Republican can win. If they do, they must have cheated. But when one of their own does cheat their way into office—then the end justifies the means. Under that scenario, America loses, and we all lose.

Its time liberals grow up and realize they do not win all the time. Even Barack Obama realizes that. It time for the grownups to take over.

President Obama made a surprise move by making an unannounced appearance at the daily press conference briefing today. The main topic was the budget disagreement between the House of Representatives controlled by Republicans and the Senate controlled by Democrats. At state is whether an agreement can be passed which will avert a government shutdown. The President talked ad nauseum concerning the impass and how the Republicans are the problem. The only problem was what he did not say.

President Barack Obama stepped out personally to address the impasse on budget negotiations and reject a Republican proposal for another temporary resolution unless it is to give Congress a few more days to pass a permanent deal.

“We are now at a point where there is no excuse to extend this further,” Mr. Obama said during a surprise appearance at the daily White House briefing. “I shouldn’t have to oversee a process where Congress deals with last-year’s budget when we only have six months left.”

From CNN

The White House will put in “whatever resources are required in terms of time and energy” to reach an agreement, Obama said.

Where in all of this is the President saying he will lead the negotiations and compromise with Republicans to resolve the budget morass. He doesn’t. The problem is this president does not know HOW to lead.

Although your position as a manager, supervisor, lead, etc. gives you the authority to accomplish certain tasks and objectives in the organization (called Assigned Leadership), this power does not make you a leader, it simply makes you the boss (Rowe, 2007). Leadership differs in that it makes the followers want to achieve high goals (called Emergent Leadership), rather than simply bossing people around (Rowe, 2007). Thus you get Assigned Leadership by your position and you display Emergent Leadership by influencing people to do great things.

What makes a person want to follow a leader? People want to be guided by those they respect and who have a clear sense of direction. To gain respect, they must be ethical. A sense of direction is achieved by conveying a strong vision of the future.

What makes a person want to follow a leader? People want to be guided by those they respect and who have a clear sense of direction. To gain respect, they must be ethical. A sense of direction is achieved by conveying a strong vision of the future.

The basis of good leadership is honorable character and selfless service to your organization. In your employees’ eyes, your leadership is everything you do that effects the organization’s objectives and their well-being. Respected leaders concentrate on (U.S. Army, 1983) (Emphasis added by TRS)

As I read more and more about leadership. I realized our President has none of these qualities. He lets other people lead who have more of a sense of direction. Through the first two years of his presidency, Barack Obama has not led. He has let Congress lead. Obama has not understood that there is a difference between being the boss and being the leader of a country. Our President is a boss. What we need is a leader. Barack Obama directs and expects others to follow. A leader knows his strengths and limitations. Obama admits none.

Congress is deadlocked with neither side able to pass a budget to keep the country afloat. There are too many voices straining to be heard. What is called for is a leader. It is too bad that none have shown up. This country needs a leader, not a boss. It reminds me of an old story: Nero played while Rome burned. True or not, the analogy is correct. Barack Obama is playing at leader while financially, the US is burning.

Who in Congress are in the extreme? When you have someone like Senator Chucky Schumer (D-NY) who is overheard calling the Tea Party members extreme just because they believe the government should spend less than it brings into its coffers, who believe in a less intrusive government, who believe in a government which works for the people rather than against them, and who believe in a government which leaves the people alone. If that is the definition of extreme, then most Americans are extreme.

So where does that leave Chucky Schumer. You have got to love the guy, because when he screws up, he really screws up. But, to his credit, he is using the Democrats talking points.

Schumer began by thanking his colleagues – Barbara Boxer of California, Benjamin L. Cardin of Maryland, Thomas R. Carper of Delaware and Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut – for working on behalf of the Senate Democrats, who are in the midst of contentious budget negotiations with the House Republicans. Then Schumer suggested that they should portray the current speaker of the House, John A. Boehner of Ohio, as painted into a box by the Tea Party, and to describe Boehner’s proposed spending cuts as extreme.
“I always use the word extreme,” Schumer said. “That is what the caucus instructed me to use this week.”

If the Tea Party is extreme, then what is normal? If most Americans believe the government taxes too much and is too involved in the everyday affairs of its citizens, then what is it that non-extreme citizens stand for?

Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) said riders to defund Planned Parenthood and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) wouldn’t fly in the upper chamber. http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/152637-schumer-measures-to-defund-epa-planned-parenthood-are-dealbreakers

Lets get this straight: the Democrats are the ones who are threatening a government shutdown in order to force a compromise (extreme), block spending bills that try to curb spending (extreme), try to keep in place money which funds abortions (extreme), and try kill legislation which tries to limit the power of one of the key agencies which is destroying jobs (extreme). So which is really the party of extreme?

You’ve got to wonder what is going on in the White House with Secretary of Defense Gates on one side…

On NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Gates was asked, “Is Libya in our vital interest as a country?”  He answered, “No, I don’t think it’s a vital interest for the U.S., but we clearly have interests there, and it’s a part of the region which is a vital interest for the U.S.”  Gates’ statement wasn’t an entirely convincing rationale for a major military commitment, and moderator David Gregory responded by saying, “I think a lot of people would hear that and say well, that’s quite striking — not in our vital interests and yet we’re committing military resources.”

…and now Vice President Biden on the other.  .

Ladies and gentlemen, I drafted an outline of what I think the Constitutional limits [garbled] have on the President with the War Clause.  I went to five leading scholars, Constitutional scholars, and they drafted a treatise for me that is being distributed to every Senator.  And I want to make it clear, and I’ll make it clear to the President: that if he takes this nation to war in Iran, without Congressional approval, I will make it my business to impeach him.

Put together, you have a mess.  I am not going to go out and start berating the President every time he sends troops to defend this country.  Right now our brave soldiers are in harms way in Afghanistan, Iraq, and now Libya.  Of course South Korea could be added into that mix since our troops are situated between two sides that have not officially ended hostilities.  Our soldiers are doing a job many of us would not do ourselves.  They live under constant threat of violence.  They live in conditions many of us would consider substandard.  Many times they eat food cold.  And their pay keeps them below the poverty line.  And yet they do this job because their nation asks them to protect us from all our enemies.  For me to question their placement would be to question their job, which is to question their service.  That I refuse to do.

Instead, I will question the words of the politicians who sent them into the danger zone in the first place.  The Democrats unfairly railed against our troops, the President, and their role in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.  They even tried to deny funding to the troops as they fought against the terrorists.  Now a couple of elections have taken place with Barack Obama winning the Presidency and Republicans winning the House.  Unfortunately the Democrats have forgotten the old adage: what is good for the goose is good for the gander.  Just because we have a Democrat in the White House does not change the fact that our troops were sent by their president into a war zone without Congressional approval at a time when some of our Senators said they would have asked for impeachment proceedings if George W. Bush, a Republican, had done the same thing.

In the age of electronics all politicians can not hide from their statements.  And now the chickens really have come home to roost.  One Senator in particular is on record saying he would initiate impeachment proceedings if George W. Bush had done what Barack Obama actually did.  Our Democrat collogues in the Senate have a choice.  They can follow through with impeachment proceeds they promised against a sitting President, or they can fold. Either way, they will show themselves liars or conniving opportunistic partisans.  It is their choice.

Hat Tip: Sister Toldjah

Isn’t it strange that when George W. Bush sent troops into Iraq, the Democrats (Barack Obama) condemned the President for going ‘Cowboy’  and for being a unilateralist.  Democrats and the left said he was ‘going it alone,’ even though the US had organized the Coalition of the Willing.  But when Obama leads the attack against Libya, he is engaging in a multilateral coalition.  Sounds like double-speak to me, especially when you consider this study put together by Foreign Policy Magazine.

The Cable compiled a chart listing all the countries that contributed at least some military assets to the five major military operations in which the United States participated in a coalition during the last 20 years: the 1991 Gulf War (32 countries participating), the 1995 Bosnia mission (24 countries), the 1999 Kosovo mission (19 countries), the 2002 invasion of Afghanistan (48 countries), and the 2003 invasion of Iraq (40 countries), at the height of the size of each coalition. As of today, only 15 countries, including the United States, have committed to providing a military contribution to the Libya war.

Yesterday, President Obama once again reiterated the liberal falsehood that ‘in the past the US has gone in alone.’  As the chart shows, this is far from the truth.  In fact, Bush’s coalition is much larger that is Obama’s.  Lost in the story is the true reason the US in involved in the bombing of Libya: France.  France has begged for the US to enter this war. Obama dithered and dithered until the American people wanted him to say something about what was going on in the world, and so he finally responded and followed France into war.

Sounds very familiar; can anyone say, Vietnam?  And now that we are finally in this war, where does it stop.  We are told at our entrance into this war that it  is for a short time only, but if the war and bombing continue, the US will be the primary player.  As the world’s only superpower, we are the only ones who can attack continuously from a distance.  If troops are introduced, we will again be the major contributor.  For this, I am not sure who to thank, France for hoodwinking our President into joining this fray or Obama for being deluded into a ‘short’ war.

Either way, the Left (and Barack Obama) are being intentionality disingenuous.  President Bush did not go it alone against Iraq.  And President Obama seems to have the Coalition of the Not-Quite-So-Willing.  But if you are in a war, you will take who you can get—even if you are the only one shooting.  The main stream media are supposed to be the protectors of liberty, making sure the White House is not distorting the truth.  That helps to protect our freedoms. Right now, the MSM are only young, starry-eyed, rose colored glasses wearing cheerleaders of the President who shout his name.

I have heard some really stupid things in my study of politics, but this one takes the cake.

“You don’t want government to hold back, you want government right now, yes, the deficit’s a long-term problem, but right now you don’t want to cut government spending, yet Eric Cantor and the Republicans are indulging, you hear it over and over and over,” Clinton Labor Secretary Robert Reich said.

This guy is an idiot.  It is hard to believe that Robert Reich was in President Clinton’s cabinet at one time.  Surely not all Democrats this idiotic.

Michelle Malkin describes it like this:

…if you’re in a boat that springs a leak, the last thing you should do is plug the hole because you’re going to be hungry soon and it’ll get you closer to the fish faster.

I would go one better.  If you’re in a boat that springs a leak, the last thing you should do is to stop digging at the hole because you’re going to be hungry soon and it’ll get you closer to the fish faster.  Sometimes you have to wonder how these people came into government service.  On second thought, never mind.  I think I know the answer.  (emphasis added by TRS)
