Barack’s Skin Color, Does it Matter?

It is fun to watch a cat fight, especially when it involves my favorite wayward cousins—the Democrats.  Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton continue to swipe at each other over little things; who is the most liberal liberal, who could bring the troops home the earliest, who best represents the ‘little guy?,’ whose health care play is best?, and blah, blah, blah!!!  They are so much alike, it is exasperating.  Both are big government Mondale liberals.  The only real differences are as plain as the wart on a witch’s nose, one is a male and the other is a female.  One is black and the other is white.  And these are the issues the two candidates are dancing around while trying not to mention them.  Day after day, their surrogates pound the pavement and the airwaves with references to these two details.  As a result, liberals are fully engaged on feeding on each other as the Obama and Clinton camps target each other and say things no conservative could ever get away with.  Take this statement from Geraldine Ferraro and DHimMi’s response from the Daily Kos:

If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position. And if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept.

And then the reply by DHimMi(?)

Yes, Clinton surrogate Geraldine Ferraro said that.  Geraldine Ferraro–nominated as Vice President almost entirely because she was a woman–ridiculing Barack Obama’s rise as supposedly due to his race is a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

One can laugh at the ridiculousness of the statement, or ridicule the idea that African-Americans somehow have it easier in America than white men or women.  But to do so misses how Ferraro’s statement will be heard by too many Americans.

(He goes on to ‘prove’ that blacks do not have it better than whites.  Of course I wonder, has he ever been turned down for help from the Small Business Administration because he was white?  I have.  Or denied a position at a high paying job, because the job being pursued had previously been held by a black man?  I have.  He just tells the same old crap, but I digress.)

Sure.  It is common knowledge Walter Mondale asked Geraldine Ferraro to be his running mate only because she was a woman.  The joke at the time was ‘Fritz and Tits’ for President.  To be perfectly honest, she would not have made a good president should something have happened to Walter Mondale, but that is just my opinion.   But then again, I do not think Obama would make a very good President either, regardless of his skin color or gender.

So the real issue is, does Barack Obama’s skin color give him any more credence to be president than anyone else.  The easy answer is no.  It is an issue Obama has never brought up and should not have to.  And yet his race is the elephant in the room.  If anyone mentions race at all, they are immediately labeled as a racist by the Obama and other race sycophants.  To his chagrin, Bill Clinton learned a valuable lesson and cost Hillary a lot of votes when he played the race card in South Carolina.

The really scary thing about Barack Obama’s race in this election is the issue of white guilt.  Many whites will vote for Obama believing it will in some small way assuage their guilt over slavery.  As if voting for a black man for president will cleanse their souls for the sins of their ancestors.  Of course this white guilt thing is only a symptom of liberals who will try to make the rest of the white race feel guilty if we should support the white female candidate, or even worse, the white male candidate.

Either way, the election of either Barack or Hillary to the highest office in the land would mean government interference in the private lives of everyday Americans on an unprecedented scale.  Money would be confiscated from large and small business owners and ‘rich’ Americans in order to pay for healthcare, whether we want it or not.  Terrorists would once again attack us here in our homeland since our troops would be incapable of keeping them on the run.  And taxes would go up to a point rivaled only by our European brethren.   In other words, the future of this great country is a hell of a price to pay to ease the guilt felt by white liberals.
