Much of the MSM and the blogoshere has been discussing Michelle Obama’s comments made in

For the first time in my adult lifetime, I’m really proud of my country.

Barack Obama, after much delay, sought to explain his wife’s comments by saying

He said her newfound pride is about the political system and was not meant to disparage her country.

Like many others, I thought she might have just misread the speech.  If such were the case, no foul was committed.  Then comes word from Fox News that this is not the first time the Presidential Contender’s wife made this ill advised comment. 

On the surface, Michelle Obama’s comment would be just that, an inappropriate comment made by the candidate’s wife and not the candidate.  But then we have to consider Barack Obama’s decision not to wear a

“You know, the truth is that right after 9/11, I had a pin,” Obama said. “Shortly after 9/11, particularly because as we’re talking about the Iraq War, that became a substitute for I think true patriotism, which is speaking out on issues that are of importance to our national security, I decided I won’t wear that pin on my chest.  

“Instead,” he said, “I’m going to try to tell the American people what I believe will make this country great, and hopefully that will be a testimony to my patriotism.”

So, while this country had been attacked and was in the act of defending itself, Barack Obama decides to discontinue wearing the pin because it was not ‘true patriotism.”  And lets not forget that a true patriot wear patriotism in their hearts.  What a crock!

All of this leads me to wonder if Michelle Obama was not saying what was on both of their minds—‘we are not proud of our country.’  They might as well just come out and say it if they believe it.  Except then some of their mindless camp followers might wake up and see Obama for what he really is—a demagogue and a truly dangerous one at that.

God help us if he becomes President.
