The Fake Democrat Outrage over Rush Limbaugh

The Democrats have been going bonkers lately over the fake Media Matters report that Rush Limbaugh criticized the troops describing those who disagreed with the war in Iraq, “fake soldiers.”  The thing is, Rush never described the troops who disagreed with him as fake soldiers.  He was discussing the fake soldier (Jesse MacBeth) who said he participated in atrocities in Iraq.  Only the ‘soldier’ had never been to Iraq having flunked out of basic training (wimp).

But this story got me to thinking about why the Democrats are chasing such an obviously fake story.  Then it hit me, deflection.  The best way to remove criticism from yourself to an opponent is to charge your opponent with the same thing you are doing.  It is an old play in the Democrat play book.  Just look at some of the other things the Dems have engaged in and then blamed the Republicans.

Take Social Security for example.  Democrats have over the last 15 years slowly eroded social security benefits from senior citizens.  They have taxed the retirement accounts thereby taking money from the elderly who many times only have social security to live on (Notice the year—1993 when Democrats controlled the Senate, House and the Presidency).  What do the Democrats do, they blame the Republicans.  Every Republican attempt to update the national retirement system is meet with scorn and Republicans continue to face the charge that it is them and not the Democrats who are slowly eroding social security away from those least able to afford it.  And for some reason the charge had stuck.  Deflection.

In 1964 President Lyndon Johnson pushed forward the Civil Rights Act which his predecessor John F. Kennedy, proposed.  The Democrats did everything they could including using the filibuster (Robert Byrd, D-VA) to stop the passage of this important piece of legislation.  If it were not for the Republicans, the bill would not have passed.  The Democrats can legitimately be called racist.  And yet using deflection, the Democrats have leveled the charge of racism at the Republican Party.  And it has stuck even though it was and is not true.  In fact the Democrat Party has the only member in the House or the Senate who was once a high member of the KKK.  If you ask Americans today, ‘which political party started the KKK?’, I would be willing to bet most people would say the Republican Party.  The KKK was started by the Democrats after the Civil War.  Once again deflection has worked.

Bill Clinton and entourage was the most corrupt administration in decades, beating out the Johnson and Nixon administrations.  But if you listen to the Dems, corruption is owned by the Republicans.  Deflection.

And now we have come to the War in Iraq.  The Democrat Party has undermined the troops at every turn calling them murderers and terrorists, calling them stupid.  These same Democrats try to give American rights to actual terrorists, and tell the troops they have lost the war.  If anyone can be accused of being against the troops, it is the Democrat Party.  Time after time Republicans have called the Dems out only to be told we are ‘questioning their patriotism.’  Then the Dems made a huge mistake, their handlers at moveon.org put out a highly offensive ad calling General Patraeus a traitor.  Americans were outraged and rightly so.  When questioned, Democrats say yeah, but… Sorry, but there is no ‘yeah, but…  There is no excuse for calling a decorated soldier like General Patraeus a traitor.

To deflect critcism from themselves (and from their handlers), the Dems have started to portray true patriots like Rush Limbaugh as anti-troop.  It is called defection.  It has worked in the past so why should they not try it again.  Hopefully this time with the help of the new media, blogs, talk radio, and Fox News; people will find out how the anti-troop people really are—the Democrats.  The Democrat Party is anti-troop, is not patriotic and own defeat.  Deflection will not work this time.
