Remembering Our Heroes
Thanks to BlackFive, I will be one among what I am sure will be many who will link to a site dedicated to those heroes who have given their all for both Iraq and the United States, They have names. Thank God for these good people who are willing to take the time and remember all those who have fallen for the United States. They recognize that these gallant young men and women are heroes.
Today they recognize Capt. James Funkhouser, may he always be remembered for his service and his sacrifice for this great country. If there was one paragraph which said who Capt. Funkhouser was, this would be it:
Alex was in the business of helping people. He was directly responsible for ensuring that the Iraqi security forces were trained and operational so that other soldiers could go home sooner than later. He loved his job and the military profession. It is people like him that Iraqi citizens have to thank for freedom. It’s people like him who we Americans have to thank for our freedoms. Those same freedoms we often take for granted, forgetting the sacrifices that make them possible.
God bless you, Capt. Funkhouser. May you rest in peace and thank you.
