Jolt to the Left

I said in an earlier post that I believed Ned Lamont’s primary victory in Connecticut would pull the Democratic Party to the left.  For visual proof of who is supporting Lemont, take a look at this picture (Note Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton standing behind Lamont)  It seems not many Democrats agree with this sentiment, but all they need to do is to read Michael Moore’s letter.  The cleansing of the Democratic Party has begun.

Friends,

Let the resounding defeat of Senator Joe Lieberman send a cold shiver down the spine of every Democrat who supported the invasion of Iraq and who continues to support, in any way, this senseless, immoral, unwinnable war. Make no mistake about it: We, the majority of Americans, want this war ended — and we will actively work to defeat each and every one of you who does not support an immediate end to this war.

Nearly every Democrat set to run for president in 2008 is responsible for this war. They voted for it or they supported it. That single, stupid decision has cost us 2,592 American lives and tens of thousands of Iraqi lives. Lieberman and Company made a colossal mistake — and we are going to make sure they pay for that mistake. Payback time started last night.

I realize that there are those like Kerry and Edwards who have now changed their position and are strongly anti-war. Perhaps that switch will be enough for some to support them. For others, like me — while I’m glad they’ve seen the light — their massive error in judgment is, sadly, proof that they are not fit for the job. They sided with Bush, and for that, they may never enter the promised land.

To Hillary, our first best hope for a woman to become president, I cannot for the life of me figure out why you continue to support Bush and his war. I’m sure someone has advised you that a woman can’t be elected unless she proves she can kick ass just as crazy as any man. I’m here to tell you that you will never make it through the Democratic primaries unless you start now by strongly opposing the war. It is your only hope. You and Joe have been Bush’s biggest Democratic supporters of the war. Last night’s voter revolt took place just a few miles from your home in Chappaqua. Did you hear the noise? Can you read the writing on the wall?

To every Democratic Senator and Congressman who continues to back Bush’s War, allow me to inform you that your days in elective office are now numbered. Myself and tens of millions of citizens are going to work hard to actively remove you from any position of power.

If you don’t believe us, give Joe a call.

Yours,
Michael Moore

Just like Howard Dean pulled the Democratic Party to the left during the 2004 Democratic Presidential Party, Ned Lamont is pulling the party to the left now.  Many of Lamont’s supporters believe his win is just the first trickle of a cleansing flood.  The Michael Moores, Howard Deans, kos kids, moveon.org group are determined to purify their party.  In their effort to weed out the hawks in their presence, the Dems are also excluding the majority of Americans who want this country to remain strong, who remember what happened to us on 9/11, who are not willing to give up without a fight.  It is a moment of truth for the Democratic Party.  Its one thing for the Democrats to concede future elections, its quite another to see them implode.  The only problem is they are so delusioned, they do not realize what they are destroying their own party.

The Face of the Democratic Party Today

Is this the face of the Democratic Party today?

One issue candidate and Connecticut Senate Democratic Primary winner with civil rights moonbats Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson standing proudly behind him. In most states, a picture like this would doom a candidate’s election chances. (By the way, Al, Jesse, if you are not busy, my local US Congressman, Chet Edwards-Democrat from Texas, would like a picture like this to display in campaign ads. Thanks.)

Meanwhile three term incumbent Joe Lieberman plans to caputre the Senate seat for the state of Connecticut as an Independent. Good for him.

Cynthia McKinney Routed in Primary Battle

In Texas High School baseball, when one team is winning by 10 runs or more after the 5th inning, the 10 run rule is declared and the game is over.  This rule saves the losing team the embarrassment of a rout.  If I were coaching Cynthia McKinney, I would have asked for the 10 Run Rule to be invoked.  She not only lost, she lost bad.

Cynthia McKinney, the fiery Georgia congresswoman known for her conspiracy theories about the Sept. 11 attacks and the scuffle she had earlier this year with a U.S. Capitol Police officer, lost a runoff election Tuesday for her district’s Democratic nomination.

Attorney Hank Johnson, a former county commissioner, soundly defeated McKinney by more than 12,000 votes, winning 59 percent of the total vote. More than 70,000 votes were cast — 9,000 more than in the primary three weeks ago.

Cynthia McKinney went on to blame whites, Republicans, and voting machine malfunctions for her loss.  Somehow she still can’t admit anything was ever her fault.  At least her campaign manager had the guts to call it as it was.  The problem was Cynthia McKinney.

Her campaign manager, John Evans, blamed the loss on the ABC — Anybody But Cynthia — strategy.

The people of Georgia are better off without McKinney.  She is an embarrassment to the entire state.

For his part Hank Johnson can say he routed Cynthia McKinney in the Democratic Primary, although it would be funny if he could say, “I 10 run ruled McKinney.”
