Murtha Revealed

I have in the past chronicled the despicable comments of one of the wackiest liberals in Congress, John Murtha.  A few days ago Murtha opened his mouth again to say:

American presence in Iraq is more dangerous to world peace than nuclear threats from North Korea or Iran, Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., said to an audience of more than 200 in North Miami Saturday afternoon.

The US is even more dangerous to world peace than North Korea and Iraq?!  After he made the comments, Murtha’s spin machine said his comments were taken out of context.  The comments the Congressman said were bad enough, but now Wiz Bang finds out the comments of this former general is even worse than first thought.  Take a look.  This guy is a first class moron.

Judge Rules Tom Delay to Remain on Texas Ballot

The opinion by Federal Judge Sparks to keep Tom Delay on the Ballot in Texas is dead wrong, for the very reason the feds stayed out of the 2002 Senate race in New Jersey; this is a state issue, not a federal issue.  Tom Delay has moved to Virginia several months before the mid-term election allowing State Republican Chairwoman Tina Benkiser to name a replacement.  Delay is no longer a Texas citizen, he can’t run for office.

Why is it that the Democrats can do this but Republicans can’t?  In the 2002 mid-term election Bob Torricelli removed himself for the running for the Senate becoming involved in a scandal a mere 43 days, I think, before the election.  In his place the Democrats convinced Frank Lautenberg to come out of retirement to hold on to the seat.  And Torricelli did not even leave the state!  The courts rightly decided the issue of who runs and is qualified to hold office should be decided by the states with the caveat they meet the Federal age and residency requirements.  The Constitution sets the age at twenty-five and leaves the residency requirement up to the individual states.  And here comes this judge who makes his decision on what might happen.

During a June 21 hearing, Judge Sparks expressed concern that under the GOP interpretation, a party might “manipulate” the rules for its own benefit by replacing nominees it fears might lose.

The U.S. Constitution establishes that a candidate for Congress is eligible if he or she is 25 years old, a citizen and an inhabitant of the state when elected.

In his opinion, Judge Sparks said there was no assurance that Mr. DeLay would not return to Texas and be an inhabitant on Election Day.

“There is no evidence that DeLay will still be living in Virginia tomorrow, let alone on Nov. 7, 2006, the only day that matters” under the Constitution, the judge said. (emphasis added by TRS)

Judge Sparks was grasping at straws when he made his decision.  And judge worth his salt will not make a decision on what might happen.  The decision is ludicrous.  Using his decision, no one in the state of Texas should have a voter registration card, because we might leave the state before the election.

Outside the Beltway notes something that I had forgotten, according to New Jersey law, Torricelli name should not have been taken off the ballot.

Republicans might note with some chagrin, and perhaps a touch of irony, that New Jersey Democrats successfully replaced Robert Torricelli, similarly affected with concerns about his character, with Frank Lautenberg less than a month before the 2002 election and in rather flagrant violation of state law requiring such a change be made at least 48 days in place of an election. That action was affirmed by the NJ Supreme Court, which argued that the law unfairly deprived residents of a competitive election, and the U.S. Supreme Court declined to intervene.

Amazing.  When judges interfere in areas where they have no compelling interest, we are all in trouble.

Mexico’s Sore-Loserman, Part 2

The saga over the Mexican vote count for President goes on.  It looks like the conservative candidate Felipe Calderon is going to win the recount as well.  In an earlier post I wrote how Sore-Loserman candidate Andrés Manuel López Obrador is acting much like Al Gore did after the 2000 US Presidential Election.  Now Fox News is reporting that this leftist Loserman has called for a national rally on Saturday to protest his loss.  Talk about a sore loser.

Minutemen Saving Lives

The Minutemen on the border have been getting a bad rap lately.  They have been accused of everything from being vigilantes to killing these poor Mexican whose only crime was wanting a better life.  This is part of this story which is not receiving enough exposure.

“Our wide-open borders present an attractive nuisance to those wishing to enter this country illegally. It is not physically possible to carry enough water to cross the vast expanse of desert between Arizona and Mexico, which causes death by dehydration for many who attempt to cross. The Minutemen have provided hundreds of gallons of water to those illegally entering this country each time we perform a stationary border watch operation and unfortunately we have found numerous dead bodies in the desert. Due to the forecasts of 110+ degree heat this weekend, we will have mobile units scouting trails where illegal entrants traverse and the lay-up sites where they assemble awaiting transportation into the interior of the United States. We will actively patrol these routes to render life-saving aid while reporting these illegal activities to the proper authorities.

“Not unlike someone who builds a fence to prohibit neighbors from the attractive nuisance presented by an unprotected swimming pool in their backyard, our vulnerable borders offer a lure to those wishing to enter this country illegally, who are not informed by their human smugglers of the jeopardy to their lives posed by an extended trip across the desert, especially in 110+ degree heat. As our government has thus far refused to do the humane thing and secure our borders, the Minutemen will use mobile search and rescue patrols to offer life-saving aid while reporting illegal entrants to the Border Patrol.”

The Minutemen are engaging in life-saving measures to those who dare to cross an extremely hot and dry border area.  I guess they do have a humane side despite what Vicente Fox says.  Once our border with Mexico is secure, Mexicans will not try to attempt this dangerous crossing knowing they can not cross into the United States.

Left Concedes Next National Election

I am surprised the moonbat left can even get out of bed in the morning.  They see shadows and conspiracies everywhere. Everywhere you look the evil Bush-Cheney vote stealers are setting up to steal the next election.

I had to read this post twice believing it was some sort of parody.  Sadly, its not.  These moonbats really believe President Bush and the Republican Party stole the last three national elections.  These people are out there.

Alright, let’s pretend, just for the sake of argument, that the Repubs are right, as are most Democrats and the media, when they insist that the election was legitimate. Fine.

We’re going to give them one more chance to hold elections that are credible. We’re going to throw ourselves into this next election, getting out as many voters as we can. The turn-out will be huge, especially by the standard of off-year elections. Americans will come out to vote, in part, as a way to take a stand on behalf of free and fair elections.

No early voting, and as little absentee voting as possible. The point here is to have a massive turn-out on Election Day.

We’ll not only work to boost the turn-out, but we also plan to monitor this thing with an unprecedented thoroughness. We’re going to watch the polls, and watch them count the votes. We’re going to keep track of every wrong or merely screwy incident, every startling trend, every weird anomaly. We’re also going to pay close heed to all the relevant statistics: newspaper polls, independent exit polls (we cannot trust the NEP) and so on.

And so, when the Repubs win yet again, surprisingly maintaining their control of Congress, notwithstanding their subterranean approval ratings, we will be prepared to note all the anomalies and improprieties — and, at long last, to SAY NO. As this will have been the fourth election cycle ravaged by Bush/Cheney since 2000, Americans must finally go Ukrainian, and just refuse to acknowledge BushCo’s latest “win.”

Where that may take us I can’t say. But it is something that, it seems to me, we have to do, or else we don’t deserve to call ourselves the citizens of a republic.

Wow.  The left is already conceding defeat in the next election.  They already have their list of excuses ready on why they lost.  At the same time they are going to refuse to admit they lost.  Talk about having all your bases covered, these moonbats have thought of everything, short of how to win these all important elections.

Elections are not being stolen by the evil Bush-Cheney machinations.  The left is losing elections because most of the American people do not support their radical agenda.  That is why they are losing elections.  That is why every Democratic candidate for national office including Hilary Clinton deliberately moves to the right just before the election.  That is why Nebraskan Senator Ben Nelson, Robert Byrd, and Bill Nelson have started voting to the right a year before the election.  Just look how they voted for President Bush’s Supreme Court nominees.

In the US today, agendas win elections, not stolen in cloak and dagger conspiracies advocated by the left.
