Rabid Racist Cynthia McKinny is Off the Hook

Have we created a nobility class in this country called the United States Congress?  People like Cynthia McKinney and Rep. Patrick Kennedy think they are above the law.  And why not, even when they commit crimes, they are treated like royalty.  I wrote extensively on the issue of McKinney here, and here.  And now Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney is getting a free pass on hitting a Capitol Hill Police officer from a grand jury.  Where ever she goes, the outspoken critic of anything ‘white’ gets a free pass because she is so apt at playing the race card.

A grand jury declined to indict Representative Cynthia McKinney yesterday in connection with a confrontation in which she admitted that she hit a Capitol Police officer who tried to stop her from entering a House office building. The incident occurred March 29 when McKinney, a Georgia Democrat, tried to enter a building without walking through a metal detector or wearing the lapel pin that identifies members of Congress. The guard did not recognize her as a member of Congress and asked her three times to stop. When she ignored him, he tried to stop her. McKinney then hit him. The next morning, she appeared on the House floor to apologize.

Anybody else would be prosecuted for striking a police officer, but not McKinney.  She just pulls out her well worn race card, which doubles as her get out of jail free card, and gets away with her outrageous behavior and her outrageous comments.

After being no billed by the grand jury McKinney is glad the whole mess is over.

“I am relieved that this unfortunate incident is behind me,” McKinney said Friday.

I am sure you are.  Why the people of Georgia put up with you antics is beyond me.  We are constantly told, ‘no one is above the law.”  This is true to everyone except for certain members of Congress.  You can be sure if this had been a Republican member of Congress, not only would the Democrats been up in arms, but Republicans would have demanded action as well.  As a member of John Q. Public, I would have been arrested on the spot.  So why is McKinney treated any different.

Capitol Hill Police are not very happy the way this whole thing has been handled.

“Right from the start this U.S. attorney has handled this case differently from every other case,” said Chuck Canterbury, national president of the Fraternal Order of Police. “And it’s because she is a sitting congresswoman.”

Unconfirmed reports say Capitol Hill Police left their posts in response to a grand jury’s decision not to indict Rep. Cynthia McKinney.  And who could blame them.  They are in a high stress job, they get little if any respect, and now not even a grand jury with eye witness testimony will protect them from assaults by a racist Congresswoman.

Lobsters Feel Pain?

To take a line from John Stossel, “Give me a break!”  The lunatics are in charge of the insane asylum.  This is animal rights gone amuck.

Customers craving fresh crustaceans will have to look beyond Whole Foods Market Inc. after the natural-foods grocery chain decided Thursday to stop selling live lobsters and crabs on the grounds that it’s inhumane.

The Austin-based grocer spent seven months studying the sale of live lobsters from ship to supermarket aisle, trying to determine whether the creatures suffer along the way. (snip)

“We place as much emphasis on the importance of humane treatment and quality of life for all animals as we do on the expectations for quality and flavor,” Whole Foods co-founder and chief executive John Mackey said in a statement.

Animal rights activities are thrilled with the decision, not just because of the way lobsters are harvested, shipped and stored but because of the fate that awaits many of them — being dropped alive into a pot of boiling water.

Come on.  Even grass can be trained to grow around a ball.  If it were up to organizations like PETA, we would all be eating grass instead of any kind of meat, or fish, or anything else that has any possibility of tasting good.

This is not going to hurt anybody but Whole Foods, Inc.  If people wanting live lobsters can’t find them at this food giant, then they will go elsewhere.

Two Soldiers Missing After Firefight

This does not look good at all.  Fox News is reporting two US soldiers are missing from Bagdad after a firefight that killed one soldier.

The U.S. military says two soldiers are missing after their team came under attack at a traffic control point in Yusafiyah, Iraq Friday night, that left one other coalition soldier dead.

A military spokesman told FOXNews after hearing small arms fire and explosions in the vicinity, a quick reaction force responded to the scene. Coalition forces have initiated a search operation to locate and determine the status of the soldiers. They are currently listed as “duty status unknown.” No other details have been released.

Four different raids have been conducted in an effort to find these missing soldiers.  This does not appear to have a good outcome.  God help them.

North Korea Closer to Being Able to Attack the US

North Korea under Kim Jong Il is actively seeking nuclear weapons.  For years the US has threatened, cajoled, and even tried to bribe the oppressive administration into giving up its nuclear program because of its ability to threat their neighbors.  Now, it seems, North Korea may be able to threaten the US with nukes as well.

North Korea is accelerating preparations for testing a missile that has the potential to strike the United States, a U.S. government official said Friday. A test of the Taepodong-2 long-range missile may be imminent, the official said.

How long before this repressive regime threatens the US?  And should we be worried?  About ten years ago I had the opportunity to listen to General Colin Powel speak at Texas A&M University concerning the possibility of North Korea’s acquisition of nuclear weapons.  His words still have a ring of truth today.

The United States has thousands of nuclear weapons, while North Korea in the next few years might have the capability of making a few, ten or so.  If they ever launch a nuclear weapon against the United States, we will turn their country into a nuclear briquette. (quotes are from memory of the event)

Okay, then.  With that said, do we really have anything to fear from the Koreans?
