Marine Underfire by Military Brass for ‘Hadji Girl’
This is so totally wrong. It seems Cpl. Belile wrote a song called ‘Hadji Girl’ about meeting a girl in Iraq and then finding out her brother and father are terrorists. Then our good ‘friends’ at CAIR (Council for American Islamic Relations) complained and so the military commanders ordered the video taken off his website. At this point I just consider some desk jockey with no balls has caved in to these terrorist sympathizers. Now it gets even worse. The USMC staff are trying to figure out a way to punish Cpl. Belile through the UCMJ.
Marine Corps officials said on Wednesday their preliminary inquiry will focus on whether Belile broke military law or rules in writing and singing a song with offensive lyrics to an audience of other troops. Another concern, they said, was maintaining “good order and discipline” in the ranks.
The Marines have called the song “clearly inappropriate.”
“I cannot say if there is a violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice or the law of armed conflict. Lawyers have looked at it and they’re kind of scratching their heads, which is why we’re doing this preliminary inquiry,” said Lt. Col. Scott Fazekas, a U.S. Marine Corps spokesman at the Pentagon.
Maj. Shawn Haney, spokeswoman at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point in North Carolina, said the preliminary inquiry is expected to last a couple of days. The military will then decide whether to move to a more formal investigation that potentially could lead to discipline.
If the military can not prosecute this Corporal on anything else, they may decide to nail him on ‘Conduct Unbecoming’ charge which is the military’s catch-all charge.
Our soldiers can fight, now if the military brass will grow a set of balls and let men be men. How can this video and song be any worse than what Cair supports.
BlackFive and Michelle Malkin has more. Be sure to check out Michelle Malkin’s post. She compares Cpl. Belile’s song with another one written earlier.
Update:
Cair reports that Corporal Belile has apologized for the video.
Belile said that he apologizes to anyone who may have been offended by the lyrics. He told the Jacksonville Daily News: “I apologize for any feelings that may have been hurt in the Muslim community. This song was written in good humor and not aimed at any party, foreign or domestic. . .I will never perform this song again, and I will remove all video and text in relation to this that I have control of.”
Now we know what the military required Cpl. Belile to do to avoid prosecution. I don’t blame him, its not fun to go up against the military.
Turns out I am not the only one who feels this way. Mikeduron writes:
Well, here we have it, folks. The brass at the Pentagon in collusion with CAIR. Their goal? The public humiliation of a Marine….
