Democrats Chasing After Windmills
Don Quixote in the tale of the Spanish knight tilted after windmills thinking they were “oppressive giants sent by evil enchanters.” The Democratic Party is not much better. Every where they look, they see evil Republicans in the pockets of giant corporations, evil Republicans going after the oil in the Middle East, evil Republicans taking down law abiding regimes like Saddam Hussein. The delusional Democratic Party is losing its tenuous grip on reality. For years now President Bush has denounced the “leakers” in his administration. And now it has been learned from ‘Scooter’ Libby that the President himself has leaked information to the media. Oh, the shame! Our President is the “Leaker in Chief.” If there is someone who knows what needs or does not need to be leaked, wouldn’t it be the President of the United States? With the MSM mishandling all the news leading up to and including the war itself, the President saw fit to release information to show that he was right, information I might add that did not compromise our national security as others leaks have done. The Washington Times has a fairly middle of the road stance when it comes to the leak investigation.
The White House scrambled to assert the president’s right to selectively declassify information, with McClellan insisting there’s a difference between leaks that can compromise national security and a president’s decision to declassify information “when it is in the public interest.”
The MSM will not tell the truth about what is really going on in Iraq. And so it is up to the President to set the record straight. Then the Democrats and their henchmen, the MSM, criticize George Bush for doing his job.
Democrats who fail to recognize that distinction are “engaging in crass politics,” he suggested.
To which House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi responded, “The president owes the American people the truth about his manipulation of sensitive intelligence for political purposes.”
So the Dems are now tilting after windmills. When most of the Iraqi documents are finally translated, there will be a lot of egg on the faces of the likes of Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and their ilk. Like Don Quixote, the Dems are fun to watch at times, but in the end, it will all be for naught. In the end the President will be vindicated by history and a peaceful Middle East. These delusional democrats see monsters when they look at Republicans. It would be nice if the Dems could drop all the political posturing and move over to the side of the American people.
In the end, it will be like the words of William Shakespeare’s McBeth when he said, “It is a tale told by an idiot; full of sound and fury, signifying Nothing.” The Democrats are on the wrong side of history on this one.
