Iraqi Documents Show Saddam Working With al-Qaeda
The translation of the captured Iraqi documents is turning out to be a treasure trove. The documents are leading to overturning many of the 9/11 commissions findings.
According to New York Post’s Eli Lake found on Right Nation:
The new documents suggest that the 9/11 commission’s final conclusion in 2004, that there were no “operational” ties between Iraq and Al Qaeda, may need to be reexamined in light of the recently captured documents.
I would dispute his findings. From what I have read of the report, the Commission did find some collaboration between Iraq’s Saddam Hussein and al Qaeda, though the commission members could find no link between Saddam Hussein and 9/11 attacks.
One of the former members of the 9/11 commission former Senator Bob Kerry had some interesting words to say about some recently interpreted documents from Saddam Hussein’s regime.
“This is a very significant set of facts,” former 9/11 commissioner, Mr. Kerry said yesterday. “I personally and strongly believe you don’t have to prove that Iraq was collaborating against Osama bin Laden on the September 11 attacks to prove he was an enemy and that he would collaborate with people who would do our country harm. This presents facts should not be used to tie Saddam to attacks on September 11. It does tie him into a circle that meant to damage the United States.”
As more and more documents are translated, I believe we are going to change a great many of our assumptions about this brutal dictator. I am sure we are going to find he did have WMDs right before the war and that he was working with Usama bin Ladin, though maybe not on the 9/11 attacks. This alone should be enough to convince the MSM to issue an apology to George Bush. Of course I will not hold my breath waiting for it. The documents should also prove to be a total embarrassment for the Democrats, showing why they should not be allowed to retake the White House or for that matter, even Congress.
