Clinton Blasts House Bill on Immigration

The junior senator from New York, Hillary Clinton certainly knows how to play politics. While the rest of the nation has been debating the immigration issue for several months now, Hillary must have been consulting her polling data to see which way the wind was blowing. And finally now, surrounded by immigration advocates, she blasts away at the Republicans because they want to criminalize breaking the law. As of now, crossing the border is a civil offense. If the House Bill is passed, it will become a felony. When an “undocumented alien” crosses the porous border with the United States, they have broken the law. Considering the number of times Bill and Hillary flouted the law, it is certainly no wonder she is doing the same thing now, just doing so publicly. And now she even has the gall to bring the Holy Bible into the mess.

“It is certainly not in keeping with my understanding of the Scriptures,” Clinton said, “because this bill would literally criminalize the Good Samaritan and probably even Jesus himself.”

A Good Samaritan would not break the law and expect to be rewarded for their efforts. Jesus himself counseled His disciples to follow the law.

She also called for new enforcement laws, including penalties for employers who exploit illegal immigrants, as well as a system to allow the roughly 11 million illegal immigrants currently living in the United States to earn their citizenship.

So Clinton wants to punish the ones who hire illegal immigrants, but reward those who broke the law getting here with citizenship. Under her system, we are going to keep you out by any way we can, but you can crossing the border, you can become an American citizen just because you made it across. I can just guess why she wants all of the undocumented aliens to become citizens with the 2008 presidential election just around the corner.

Powerline has some unique news on the number of troops we are losing in Iraq. If you listen to the msm, we are in a quiagmire, we are losing more troops than we have ever lost, our troops are facing carnage and certain death by going to Iraq. Take a look at the rest of the article.

I would this comparison: more active duty service members (2,392) died in 1980, Jimmy Carter’s last year in office, than in either 2003 or 2004, when the Iraq war was being fought (1,410 and 1,887, respectively). No military actions were conducted during 1980 other than the failed effort to rescue the hostages in Iran, in which eight servicemen lost their lives. Keep that in mind next time you hear Carter pontificating about the “carnage” in Iraq.

The lies and disinformation we have been told by the msm. Thank God for the new media. Just imagine if today’s news organizations had been around during World War II where at times we lost thousands in a single day. We would have pulled out with Germany controlling all of Europe. Or if they had been around during the Civil War. At the battle of Shiloh where we lost more than 25,000 in one day, today’s news media would have wanted us to quit fighting leaving the United States a divided nation.

They just don’t get it, do they?

Student Finds $30,000 in Katrina Home

A college student on spring break finds more than $30,000 in a flood ravaged house.  She along with others gave up their annual trip to the beach to go on a church mission trip to repair houses damaged during Hurricane Katrina.  Apparently the young woman was tearing out some damaged sheetrock when she came across the money.  The owner’s father, without the knowledge the rest of the family, stored the stacks of $100 bills behind the walls during the Great Depression.  The home owner called the find a miracle.  When the college student was asked about whether she thought about keeping the money.

Haley Barton, a fellow student who was in the house with Wright, said there was never a question of keeping the money.

“I think that it’s expected of us as young people, or people of any age this day, to go in and take it and not be faithful or trustworthy in turning it in, but that wasn’t even an option for us,” she said.

It says a lot for the youth of America to voluntarily give up their spring breaks to help others in need.  This is especially poignant for me since I had my wife, daughter, and son doing the same thing as this college student is hurricane ravaged Mississippi.  I also had another daughter with a mission to Juarez, Mexico.

Election 2008

Fox News has a new Fox Dynamics Poll out in PDF format which states much of what I have felt about the future in 2008, its too early to tell who will win.  But, there are some surprises: President George Bush is more likeable than any of the other candidates including (in order) John McCain, Hillary Clinton, and Al Gore.

In head to head battles, they only match up McCain, Giuliani, Clinton, Gore, and Cheney.  Gore beats nobody.  Meanwhile the only one match-up has Clinton winning when she beats Cheney who has already declared that he is not running.

And in spite of what the msm says, national security is still the top issue of the American people.  Closely followed by economic issues and then social issues.

The poll says the Republican to beat is Rudolf Giuliani with Hillary the one to beat on the Democratic side.

Still more of the same until after the mid-term elections.
